Journey of Recovery Campaign

The Journey of Recovery interview series highlights the stories of Montanans with lived experiences of trauma, substance use and mental health struggles and who are on the path of recovery. These interviews share how people can move forward and empower others to do the same.

Starting the journey of recovery requires a shift in personal expectations. It is a road of progress, not perfection. It starts with hope and the understanding that using recovery services and getting help are signs of strength and resilience to overcome challenges and/or conditions and lead a more fulfilling life.

The Journey of Recovery virtual learning sessions center around certified behavioral health peer support specialists (cBHPSSs) working in recovery services in Montana. These recorded sessions include the speakers sharing parts of their recovery journey, the importance of recovery services and the services and programs offered at their organizations.
