Medications For Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD)

MOUD are an important part of treating people who struggle with opioid use disorder (OUD). Despite these medications’ effectiveness, they are often stigmatized due to the misconceptions that MOUD replace one addiction with another or are less legitimate compared to other treatments. The stigma can discourage people from getting or continuing treatment and can create barriers to accessing care.

At Mountain Pacific, we work with health care providers and nationally recognized subject matter experts to reduce the stigma around these medications and increase access to care. Our medication management programs help ensure these medications are prescribed and used appropriately. We monitor issues such as adherence and misuse and provide oversight that can improve treatment outcomes and safety. By addressing potential problems and supporting appropriate use, we can promote effective treatment and ensure people with OUD receive the best possible care.

Managing Department of Correction Population Health

Mountain Pacific can work with other state and federal departments of corrections and prison systems to provide pharmacy consultations for disease management, including chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder (COPD), asthma, dyslipidemia, hypertension, type 2 diabetes, antipsychotic metabolic monitoring and anticoagulation. Our clinical pharmacists are certified in supporting the management of these chronic conditions. We offer drug utilization review to assess the safety, effectiveness and indication of each reviewed medication.
