Under contract with the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS), Mountain Pacific’s advanced clinical pharmacist team offers a robust pharmacy case management and DUR program. We collect, analyze and interpret drug use patterns to improve the quality, safety and economical use of medications. Evidenced-based guidelines are used to review and study:
By sharing information and drug recommendations with health care providers, we help Medicaid members get the right therapy for them while reducing overall health care costs.
Mountain Pacific is responsible for managing the technical and administrative duties of the Montana Healthcare Programs Drug Utilization Review Board. Our DUR coordinator, a pharmacist, develops new or updated medication criteria to present to the DUR Board. The Board, made up of Montana physicians and pharmacists, reviews the information and makes recommendations to Montana DPHHS. The DUR Board serves as the clinical experts who make sure the Montana Healthcare Programs’ members get the best medication treatment available.
As part of our DUR work, Mountain Pacific publishes a quarterly newsletter for Montana health care providers and pharmacies. This newsletter provides education about our prescription drug use reviews in Montana and updates on newly implemented clinical drug criteria. Review editions of the newsletter under our pharmacy resources.
